for my bass drum. I need some suggestions. My budget is probably going to be about 60 bucks I can spend more if I have to but I also need a new crash and guitar stuff so what would you suggest for something 60 bucks or less? I really would like the best bang for the buck and I'm really not to picky about the head but I would really more or less like to know which ones to avoid. It's a Pearl Export 22" bass drum. I have been very faithful to Evans in the past and have fallin in love with the EQ4 head but the head I had last the Remo Weatherking Pinestrip-- which had a horrible tone IMHO-- just broke about a week ago. I play alot of hardrock/metal with both heel up and heel down so I would really like something that can hold up. I would really like to try something that maybe has some sort of muffling device with it but I'm not to familiar with this sort of thing (I've always used a pillow
) OK so if anyone has any ideas or is just itching to voice their opinions on a certain head/brand please go ahead and get political. I like a quick attack that has that classic metal "click" to it. I really don't want my bass drum to sound like a 10 in tom on steroids.
