I am posting this here for anyone interested in hearing what the Gefell M300s sound like:

A recording using the Gefell M300 matched pair:

Signal Chain: Taylor 914 --> Gefell M300s --> Avalon AD2022 --> E-MU 1212m sound card in PC using Sonar 4

Wonderful!

Ive been saving to get a pair myself, id had a chance to use them as overheads, and theyre even sweeter tha km84's.

Wonderful guitar piece.
Great sounding recording.

I'm sure you recognize the song, "Time in a Bottle", by Jim Croce.

Without seeing the chain I was about to say "sounds like a Taylor."LOL

Those mics sounds sweet. EQ'd?

Is that the TV in the background?

Nice!

Lol, Not the TV, but I could hear something. Oh well, what can I say, it is my living room.

Time in a Bottle

The original posts are months old, but I'm just coming onboard and hearing it for the first time. Nice arrangement and performance!

Is this a single real-time rendition, or did you multi-track it? The fact that I can't tell for sure indicates that you've done either a great job of merging two or more tracks, or a great job of playing the piece on one guitar.

It is two tracks. BTW, this was originally posted a couple days ago.

Whoops... I mistook the "Join Date" for the "Post Date."

Good work on the recording and playing of the Croce tune. I've used the M300s before, and they are probably the most faithful-sounding guitar mic pair I've heard.

I use a pair of GT/Alesis AM40 tube condensors for most of my stereo acoustic guitar recording. Not as accurate as the M300s, but I really like the meaty tone.

Excellent recording, what was the rest of the signal chain? I have been eyeing the 300's for some time now, this is enough to make the desire & out & out need!

I tried something different using an A - B setup about 5ft apart, sitting about three feet away.
