Guys, if you don't get any feedback about your mix, don't worry it means your mix is either bad, ok, good or excellent. !

No worries, your mix sits between bad and excellent, and you have 16 chances over 1400+ to win a prize. With so many mixes in the pot this is almost a lottery!

It has been really fun listening to all the entries. Everyday I listened to all the newest uploads and yes I spent many a night awake. What I came out with was about 100 of my personal choices. What I came learned from this contest was this.
1. There are thousands of people like me out there in this beautiful planet earth who really love mixing music.
2. That as long as there are different speakers, equipment, rooms, ears, tastes and opinions, our mixes and our music will always remain different in a unique way
3. That although everyone strives to be a great mix engineer like the best and want their mixes to translate well across this universe from within their own personal studio, we still are passionate about our idea and mix approach and that this translates into the beautiful assortment of mixes that we have to choose from and enjoy.
4. That without the vastly different mixes that were contributed, music would become stale and pointless. In other words it is because we have your personal great talent on each of these mixes that our music benefits in the end. Good or bad this drives the future of music in an optimistic direction, free of traditional rules and restrictions.
5. That our personal taste and ears direct our opinions of what we listen to and this is the key element as to why we need so much variety in our music both sonic and musical.
6. That I am proud to be unique and that there are many just like me. Just as musicians need to be fresh and new so should be the way in which music is presented to our ears in digital or analog form
7. Now is the time of change so be unique, challenge the status quo and mix strange and outstanding new audio that defies gravity or anything that we've ever heard before, the tools are here, Now!!

I uploaded a new "final version mix". Main changes were creating a duplicate snare track, and gating that track to get the snare to pop a bit more. I also fixed a couple of sibilant areas in the second verse, but I did not use a de-esser.
Comments are welcome.

My gearfest PureMix Contest Mix

Dangerous Music / Sweetwater / pureMix Mixing contest

My Studio: Presonus Studio One, MacBook Pro, Presonus Studiolive console, Yamaha NS-10m monitors, KRK subwoofer

For this song, I used Presonus Studio One as the DAW, and a variety of Sonalksis, Waves and Presonus Plug-ins. On Vocal, Sonalksis EQ, Waves CLA-76 Compressor, and DeEsser. H-Delay and IK Multimedia CSR Reverb (Hall). I made a duplicate channel for Vox with SoundToys Radiator providing a bit of parallel vintage console break-up and vibe.

On Drums, Light Kick sample triggering, Snare (CLA-76), PuigChild Comp on Drum Overheads. Waves H-Comp on whole kit (parallel processing). Stock Presonus EQ plugs.

On bass, I made a duplicate channel with Presonus RedLight Overdrive for grit and definition. Not much compression on the un-overdriven bass. Stock Presonus EQ plugs. Used both Amp and DI channels, put Amp channel out pf phase.

For Guitars, I used Waves H-Delay to expand the stereo field and provide depth. Another duplicate channel provided alternate EQ and tone for choruses. Stock Presonus EQ plugs. No compression.

Master Bus had a Sonalksis EQ, Waves API-2500 Compressor and L3 on ever so slightly.
