I currently have an 8 channel behringer mixer going into my pioneer stereo system out to two KRK Rockit Monitors. I'm experiencing some noise problems and have been told by several people that i need a "real" amplifier. What type of amp should i get for the KRK Monitors that's decently priced? Also, will using a standard APC UPS Battery backup with surge protection help eliminate background noise or do i need an actual power conditioner?

Do I need anything else besides the power amp? I running 3 keyboards through the mixer to the stereo then out to my krk rockit monitors. Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

T

Are those the active model's?

If they are active, that means they have a built in amp so you shouldn't need an external one. If they are active then you should just plug them straight into your mixer's main out.

How are the levels going out of the mixer? Are they below "green"?

If they are passive, just get yourself a power amp that can supply at least twice the power that the monitors are rated at . (If your monitors accept 100w at 8ohm, get a power amp that pushes at least 200w at 8ohm.)

Are you using any of the FX's?

How much noise are we talking about? Is it crackles or pops or full blown static?

what is your budget?
