GarageBand and QuickTime Video question

Hi

When I import a QuickTime movie into GarageBand I get no sound. I can see the soundtrack, but can't hear anything.

If I import Audio and select the movie file I get an Audio track but no video

Is this normal ?

double check the sampling rate of the project and the video file are the same

I am still testing different scenarios, if I copy the Audio Track from the video and paste it into a new Audio Track, it plays straight away. Essentially, splitting the Audio from the Video works, is this a clue to the underlying problem ?
