Not the genera I normally listen too but the playing was excellent. I would like to hear more bass and the edit/punch in at around 3:15 was a bit too obvious. Great work though.. Awesome playing!

Phil...the tempo is 210. 30 seconds or a real pro ticking the ride would be nice! [hint]:)

I'll check that edit! TX! [there's no edit...it's just all the percussion floating on the three-feel plays its last beat where the two time-lines find the 'one' in unision. Hmmmm...must ponder!

Holy crap! Chet Atkins meets Weather Report meets Stan Kenton.:D

I don't have a prob with the chorused guitar effect. A good contrast would be some Wes Montgomery double-stops for the head.

What are you using for horns? Love the patches....very nice horn arranging as well.

I don't have a single nit to pick with this....nice and bright, very clear soundfield (You've given me a lesson here!) Thoroughly enjoyed it.

You want just a ride sample? I can do dat.

Well...I wuz thinking a 30 second WAV track at 210......I'd only have to plug it in 5 or 6 times. A single sample:I know there's a way to laod it onto one of my synths...for triggering...but then I'm left with a finger on a keyboard or crappy pad making wrist-stiff swing. Given m' druthers, I'd love a real mic'd ride. But I can do w/ what I got. If you have a real ride...and can spare a few minutes...it's Christmas, soon!!!!

Teysha: the horns are patches in an antique Roland XV 50/80 rack synth:
bone section; trumpet section; bright horns; and solo trumpets and bones. I reset to factory pre's. That's what it came with. The guy who had it before me screwed with all the perameters....and I couldn't get anything sounding close to real. Then, it hit me: duh.

I love horns. Carla Bley, Duke...those cats. Blow me away. Don fagan don't suck at it either.

I just did a remix...stuffing the bass gtr and lead solo into virtual 4X12 cabinets....a little o'drive on the guitar. Rounded them out a lot....killed some of the ping in the guit. Some perc edits... But everything else is flat as recorded. I'm so pleased with my late discipline...not fudging sounds until final mix...and saving my original tracks!! [duh]

I'll have, I think, the final master in a few hours...unless it went downhill from what's up there now....according to opinion.

Don't succumb to mix-by-committee... these are only SUGGESTIONS. You have to ultimately go with what satisfies you...

I've posted the final master on the sc site. I tried mixing a floor...bass drums percussion and piano, only, and realized it needed more work without cover of the head. But I'm leaving it for now...transferred platform to storage. I went back to twangy original guitar...the rounded version got lost on the horn freqs. Bass is rounded....not too loud: big band protocol is slightly lower bass in the mix than most pop...The master is leveled up only...no compression...just a b'wall limiter....to salvage soft dynamics and preserve the horn thrill.
Thanks for the ears, suggestions and everything. Onward! Need a vacation from it....
