Let me start by saying that I like zzounds.com. I've ordered stuff from them and I've generally been happy with their service. I liked them more when they didn't charge shipping, but that was too good to be true while it lasted.
Anyway, I got an email from them explaining their special sale where some items are 70% off. Here is a blurb from the email I got...
"End-of-Season Clearance!
Alesis XT20 ADAT - $939.95: 63% Off (Was $999.95)
New Low Prices on Samson Mixers!
Samson TM500 Mixer - $449.95: 46% Off (Was $499.95)
Samson S63 Mixer/Amplifier - $239.95: 50% Off (Was $279.95)"
On what mathmatical planet do these guys live where $60 on a $1000 item is considered 63%? Where 46% off a $500 item is $60? That's not even 63% on $100!
What is half of $280? According to my calculations (and granted, I'm no math wiz), half of 280 is 140. So how is it that 50% of $280 comes to $230?
Who said that math is absolute?
