Formerly "Dog-In-Door"
Did a thing with my new bass.
Did all the sounds with the pre-delivered plug-ins that Pro Tools has. I'm thinking of re-amping them this week. What do you say?

Reuploaded a newly mastered version today (13.01):

Shoutout to Brian Miller for mastering the track for me.

Hard to hear the toms, and the drums on a whole could come up.

Dig the tune, and the performance was solid. The tone on the cleaner rhythm isn't the best IMO, could use a slight bit of edge or less reverb, not sure. Just jumps out and doesn't mesh.

Besides the toms, was there a specific drum element you would have turned up? Or just all of it?

Thanks for the listen.

If the toms came up the drums would be okay, but they did feel 'back' too far in the mix. Could be more than just a volume thing. I wouldn't worry about it until you got all the tracking done/redone.

Way to represent on the bass. I'm tired of these people with their "normal" guitars, acting like the bass is some kind of freak. When those of us who wanted to strum something but didn't want to be bothered with learning chords needed an instrument to play, was it the guitar that answered our call? Of course not. It was the bass that was there for us. The bass understood. What kind is your new one?

Nice little "funky" groove. You played all the guitars too, right?

Yeah, I did. I bought a bass guitar around xmas but didn't get to use it since I was gone for two weeks on holidays.

Some kind of Fender MIM Jazz bass. Maple neck, white body. I don't really know but I love playing it.

Really good playing and a cool groove.

No big complaints from me.

There is a doubled rhythm guitar that lacks just a bit of definition to my ear. It's the guitar that is just to the point of breaking into distortion.

Other than that, it sounded good to me.

Left or right one?

Thanks for listening :3

Man, I'm hard pressed to come up with any serious critiques (regarding the mixing, not the performance. There are some lead guitar notes I didn't love, but that's totally subjective).

Could the toms come up, get less verb, be further in front? Sure. But if you didn't change them it wouldn't bother me in the least.

This is a dynamic, full, balanced mix.

Has it been mastered yet, or are we listening to the pure mix? Thanks for sharing man!

And thank you for listening!

I don't master. Wouldn't even know where to begin.

Prepare to get banned.

Thanks for the listen!

That's good since it's too late to change anything now :P

Thanks for the listen.

Is there a way to reply to a thread without bumping it?
