hey whats up?Here is a instrumental thing I'm workin on...tryin for a heavy 70's power trio sound in the style of Robin Trower/Hendrix..Tried to get a real heavy bottom end...only 4 tracks recorded with the guitar track doubled copied to a 2nd track with a bit of delay.
Any/all tips or critiques on the mix/EQ would be real cool...playings kinda sloppy but its a work in progress ;)

The playing sounds pretty solid to me. I like it. It definitely achieves the feel you're going for. Only thing I'd change is the high-end on the bass. It sounds pretty good but there are parts where it cuts through the mix much too strongly. Other than that, really great job.

Thanks for the listen!I am trying to learn how to use EQ on the Bass in my mix better,I dont have very good monitors so mixing is a bit dicey.I will give your suggestion a shot!Thanks again!
 
Fuck I love that old school guitar playing. Nice tone. Too much ambience on the drums and bass - dry 'em up a bit.

Yeah sounds real good. There are a few pops here and there, think its the bass.
I dont understand what you mean when you say you only recorded 4 tracks. The drums sound real enough and you would need 4 tracks for them alone.

Track 1 - Drum loops(Smart loops drag and drop drummer)
Track 2 - cymbal crashes (smart loops also)
track 3 - guitar
track 4 - bass.

A Fender strat+ deluxe w/lace sensor pickups into a PODXT Live,into Ark24 soundcard/breakpot box.
Bass is a old beat to shit Peavey t-40 recorded thru a bass preset on PODXT Live.
Drums are smartloops drag and drop drummer.
Used Cakewalks guitar tracks pro3.
