These were purchased about 7 years ago as a matched pair by The Sound Room. Russian made, not the newer Chinese manufactured, though those are probably fine if matched too. I have used them a total of perhaps 30 minutes in those 7 years, otherwise they have been stored in the case inside my house. I had posted here during that time but can't even remember my username! I hate to part with them - purchased them to record piano and trumpet, but finally decided I need the money for a trumpet instead. No sense recording my instrument if I don't have one to play that sounds decent. :)

Anyway...

MC012a pair, cardioid capsules, -10dB pads, unopened windscreens, cedar case, matching certificate from The Sound Room. Like New. Really.

Asking $300 + shipping.

These things make great overheads, and I wouldn't mind buying them to have a pair to get modded for use as a general set of SDCs, but since I don't have a pressing need for them right now, I'll wait and see if anybody else needs them more desperately.

If you haven't sold them in a week or two, PM me and I'll buy them off you.

Oh, yeah, and if you're looking for advice on a decent trumpet, I've been very happy with my silver plated Benge. Definitely worth trying out if you can find a Conn dealer. And don't underestimate the importance of choosing the right mouthpiece. Personally, I'm a fan of the Schilke 14A4X for doing lead work (bright, but not too bright, large backbore for an open feel and easier pitch support in the upper register). I haven't found anything I like for non-lead work yet. YMMV.

I'll let you know if someone doesn't bite soon.

I'm looking for a picc, which is frustrating in itself. There are about 5 models that I'd be happy with, but unfortunately nobody buys a picc unless they know what they're doing and take good care of it, thus the used market doesn't really lend itself to finding those "gems in the rough" or "steals" like you can find on standard Bb horns. I have a buddy that plays a Benge and it's a nice horn... and a lot of players could probably improve things a lot by moving to the Schilke A4A line! :)

Ah. Cool. I just bought a piccolo trumpet myself about a year or two back. I tried several and ended up choosing the Getzen Custom, though I also rather liked the Bach. I didn't like the small bore piccolos (e.g. the Benge piccolo) nearly as much---I wish they build a large bore piccolo, but now that they got eaten by Conn, it's probably safe to say they never will. Anyway, the Getzen Custom is worth trying it if you haven't already.

The piccolo's upper register was the reason I bought the 14A4X I mentioned earlier. :D

I've got my eye on a Getzen 916 "Canadian Brass" that's for sale now, though I was hoping to run across something just a little less pricey. The 916 was the progenitor to the Custom 3916 you bought. I think they made some minor improvements over the 916, but it's still a fine instrument I'd be happy with.

OK, so before this becomes a trumpet thread can we see some pics? I'm interested in these.
Thanks

Server was whacky yesterday, couldn't post pics. Here they are:

Well, I went out and spent the money on another set of drums. If the mics are still around after I sell off more stuff on ebay I'll be very interested again.
Thanks

Bumping this up, will put on ebay if they haven't found a home in a couple of days.

Don't put them on eBay. Like I said, I'll buy them from you if nobody else does. I just figured there'd probably be some starving musician chomping at the bit to get a pair of these at a good price.

Sorry about that... I'd have shot you a PM before listing them. Looks like you scared up some interest anyway. :)

Sale pending. I'll update when final or if still available.
