Look at the first question Buck62 asks...

"Is there a website for this music store?"

And SuperSeller DODGED the question.

DING! DING! DING! DING!

Anything up there? Is 1+1 starting to equal 2 about now?

Sorry to whoever got suckered, but being a little paranoid and maybe skipping a good deal is a lot better than being gullible.

Does anyone have a full address of where you sent the money or what PayPal has registered? I have a present to all you who got scammed. Feel free to post it here...or send it to me. ;)

Well to answer your questions, Yeah I have a address and phone number and have spoke with him and his mother on two occassions. I also did a reverse lookup on the phone number to match the address the money was sent. NO I havent received my stuff or my money but have spoke with them on the phone and thru email.....they have until Friday. Until then I cant say its a scam. I also did some research and he mentioned about his dads friend owning a music store and didnt mention about selling anything in that thread back in Dec. So I went for it, but dont kid yourself Im only about 7.5 hrs from his house. The police will definately be involved also, it was a postal money order (federal offense,,,,,internet fraud also). So there ya have it, Tell me how else you would have handled it?? Ok escrow service but other then that? Never had a problem like this before and had many internet deals.

Peace

Eddie- Hey, I'm not attacking you. I've been there. Me, I wouldn't wait until Friday. He's had plenty of time to send your merchandise. All he's hoping at this point is to scam someone else so he can come up with enough money to quiet you down. My guy actually refunded half of my money in an effort to show "good faith", but by then I'd done some research and knew I was only one of many. My guy used his wife as an accomplice, maybe she didn't know. Like your guy, he gave his address and phone and all the information I needed. Stupid, really, but they hope by seeming legitimate that you'll continue to be patient. My guy did all the things Chris has done. Claiming to have replied when he hadn't. Accusing me of being impatient. Showing up in forums to appear that he was trying to take care of things. Talking to me on the phone. He's not a "professional" scammer. More than likely, he's an actual musician.

Frankly, I'm not even sure how this scam is supposed to work. I guess the hope is that if you take a little money from a lot of people, you can fly under the radar and the police won't want to get involved.

It's my sincere hope that Chris will prove me wrong. All he has to do is send the equipment or refund your money. Simple.

The original post just seemed to good to be true. Also, the price he quoted for a "new" SM57 was too low. You could sell a used one on Ebay and get more money. The fact that he wouldn't (or more likely "couldn't") provide a name or website for this mystery music store made me think it was a scam, so I backed off and have been watching all of this unfold ever since. That's why I've been asking what's going on. I'm sorry to say that at this point it looks like a rip-off scheme by some punk and an accomplice who merely "plays" his mom over the phone. He's stalling, dodging questions, and hasn't sent out anything to anybody yet. I think tedluk is right about this kid, he's a wannabe thief who's hoping that you'll all go away and give up on him, so he can keep your cash. Although he's not clever enough to completely escape scott-free with everyone's money, he's smart enough to convince everyone he's scammed that he's an incompetent dumbass who's still going to make good on what he promised... some day.

Every person who's sent this punk money should band together now and use every resource possible to nail this little shit to the wall and make sure he gets the mugshot and jail cell he so desperately deserves.

Not really.... you don't make much money by scamming someone for only 50 or 60 bucks. Also, his saying that it was sold makes you think he might be legit. Seems like he convinced you he's not a scammer. Maybe that's why his scams have been working so well.

BTW, have you seen him around here lately?

No, I haven't seen any money. I don't know if anyone else got anything or not. I DO know that Geno was prosecuted and convicted of fraud, so at least there was some justice meted out and I hope he learned his lesson and won't do it again. What I felt really bad about is his two kids. His wife had just given birth to his second child a few weeks before he scammed me. What an idiot.

I just wanted to give you guys an update as to the latest developments.

I contacted Chris by phone today, and left a message saying that I would be prosecuting to the fullest and that I was in contact with the Michigan State Police. Shortly after leaving the message, his mother returned my call. She has made arrangements to have the money sent back priority mail on Tuesday. So hopefully everything will work out.

Also since the amount was 1000.00, it qualifies as a felony even though Chris is only 17 they would still transport him across state lines to face charges depending on where I filed the charges. (meaning if I filed thru Michigan he would be on trial there or if I filed here in Ohio he would be transported and tried here. I explained this to his mother and she said she would get the money somehow.

After this conversation she called back again to say she would be sending full payment priority mail to me on Tuesday. I know I read the other forums how this drags on without receiving any money but just to let you know his mother seemed pretty honest and concerned on what could happen to her son if she didnt follow thru.

I will keep you guys posted on whats going on, maybe this can help others avoid what myself and Tim have been going thru.

Peace
Eddie

Just wondering what his mom says about this. Did you ask her if there really is a music store? What is her story?

I was wondering the same thing.

If the poor mom has to "get the money somehow", I'll bet the kid spent it on heroin or crack.

Sad... very sad.

$1000 is a lot of money, but I would settle for meeting in a public place with the dad and letting him get whipped with the belt a few times on a bare ass.

Infact, you might wanna work that into the agreement since you are not pressing chares if you get your money back.

I would probably wait for the mother to send the money as well if she sounded legit, but it's probably a good idea to get in contact with the police anyways, b/c you did give him until today. If the mother's legit, maybe the po-po can at least confirm who Chris is and scare the shit out of him. If she's an accomplice, this could very easily just be a delay tactic and it's best to get on it right away. Good luck.

The Michigan State Police have already been contacted and will be giving me a call today to take the report and all the corresponding emails along with some info from this site. I already informed his mother of what was taking place but also that I would inform the detective that I spoke with his mom and we have made arrangements for repayment. I will still file a report today just in case things dont go as planned. Thanks for the support:) I'l keep everyone posted.
