I'm actually on the opposite end (no, i'm not a scammer). Someone bought my interface on ebay about a week ago, sent me the money right away, but forgot to pay shipping. He wants me to ship it to Sweden, so that's $60. I've been emailing him everyday (sometimes twice a day) asking him to please send the shipping, or i will have to return his money. But then i'm still stuck with the charges ebay puts on me from having a successful auction. You'd think he'd want to contact me, seeing as I have his money. I want to give him a few more days to respond, but I don't feel comfortable holding on to his cash.

In response to the last post, you can get ebay to refund your money for the transaction if he doesn't follow through. I've had a few dealings with non or partial paying bidders and ebay gave me very little hassle about the refund. All I did was send them a detailed e-mail and they gave it to me.
As for the current situation, I live in Michigan and would be happy to get involved if he's anywhere near me. When I was asking him about the items for sale he said he was in the upper peninsula, which would be too far for me to be effective. But maybe he was lying about that (I asked him so that I could try and save on shipping charges by picking it up). I'm in Ann Arbor, if he's anywhere in southeast Michigan let me know. I would only want to do it, though, if it's a necessary recourse. If the cops are already involved and it looks like they have a handle on the situation, then let them take care of it.

Yep,
His Mother followed thru and made good on the return of my 1000.00. She expressed mailed it and it arrived today.
I figured I would give you guys this update and let you know that I am still not done yet until StratoSaurus gets his money back also. 
His may take awhile longer since he is using paypal first to resolve this and the Police are waiting on paypal's findings and what they intend to do before going and picking him up. Statosaurus and I have stayed in contact thru phone, email, pm...we have shared info, contacted the same Michigan State Police Officer. The only difference is that I have called the residence over and over and over till I was able to speak with someone other then chris. Putting a scare in his mother, set the tone for the return of my money (being it was a felony).
Now with Stratosaurus's case the police are still as eager to go pick him up and charge him with a crime as they were with my complaint but like I said they are waiting to see what paypal does, and probably what Tim (stratosaurus) wants to do after that. So this is where it stands as of Today.

Great going Eddie! It's at least good to hear mom was straight-up. I haven't been quite as insistant on the phone calls, as you were, but I have called at least 20 times & I've given up on trying right now, kinda tired of the constant busy signal.
Since it's only me now & I don't have to worry above jeopardizing the return of your money, I can go the way I want to.
I know you told her about me. so she knows & she hasn't bothered to try to contact me. I just going to bide my time. Right now, as far as I'm concerned, mom will have to do alot of talking to keep her boy outta jail.
As a parent, myself, I don't think mom's doing him any good by bailing him out. So, when the time comes, I'm gonna take my chances & if I can have him locked up, I will. Maybe he'll get locked up & I'll also get my money back. If not, I feel strong enough about this, that I'll take the loss. His last email kinda showed me that's where he belongs.

Well, I just heard from Chris' mom & it appears she'll be sending my money back, to keep her son out of jail. Det. Bill Smith of the Michigan State Police paid them a visit & suddenly I come home & find 3 messages from her on my phone. She said she cut the internet off at the house & said she would have done the same thing I did, if it were her. She's given me her number & also her work number. She seems to be a very nice lady, with a wayward son. Personally, I think mom's is making a big mistake, by bailing him out of these 2 thefts, but....
btw....PayPal ruled in my favor, but since there was no money in their PP account, they just said "case closed". After wasting that time, it sure appears that the M.S.P. didn't waste any time.
I'll let ya'll know when I the money back.

Yea good old paypal there a joke .................glad to her you got your money strat just like ebay paypal act like theyll back you up lasttime there was mistake by credit card company on a chargeback they took care of it paypal acted like they where covering my $$%$ for lost fund they sent me a statement saying i qualifieed for protection mmmm i had talk to guy and cerdit card company they had cancel chargeback! Put this kid up as one of the americas worst internet fraud criminals geeeeeeeeeez

I've heard a lot of bad history results with PayPal, but my own personal experience with them came out in my favor...
Long story short, ebay sale where the guy sent me a lesser item than what I bought... sent my item to Canada and then kept promising to reimburse me, or pay shipping to swap the two items or refund the difference of what I paid and the value of what I received... After 2 weeks of his promises, and pulling teeth to try and get a hold of him after the promises didn't materialize, I filed a complaint with PayPal and they froze his account during the problem resolution process.
Fortunately for me, his entire income is based on selling stuff on Ebay, and he needed his PayPal account...
All of a sudden, I couldn't get enough phone calls or emails from this guy... Telling me I'd better get them to unfreeze the account or he'll "drive up here and kick my ass" (Can't afford the $200 to make things right, but he could drive from TX to OR at $2.00 a gallon).
After a day of that, he apparently found the money in the dryer or sumpin and I was paid within 3 days...
Had it not been for PayPal and his reliance on them, I would have had to just chalk it up to expereince and eat the loss...

I believe anything over 2 grand is larson, and he should be put away regardless of weather or not you got the money back. One day this kid will grow up to an adult, and scam someone big time. Everyone will wonder why nothing was done when this happened.

Im so glad you got in touch with his mom and yes she is a nice lady with a wayward son. Thumbs up those Michigan State boys, they dont take kindly to theives. Another victory for us people buying and selling on the web. Again Congrats on getting your money back. Be sure to stay in touch.Btw I just got my new Avalon today from AMS and getting ready to put it in the rack. I paid a bit more buying new but its better than getting ripped off.
