Still Learning.......
Ok, I've got an 8-in, 8-out interface for my computer and need to send 8 pre-amped signals to the computer. What would be the best (or cheapest) way of doing this?
My budget is about £200 ($300), so I was looking at this

even though Behringers are continually dubbed a evil on this site........

I was going to use the insert points on the mixer as direct outs to the interface, will this be ok and will it give me a pre-amped signal?
Is there a mixer with direct outs on 8 channels that is within this price range?
Cheers.

Yes, it will definitely work. There are users here who use the same configuration with the same mixer. IMO, using a mixer is the cheapest, most practical way to go.

I'm not aware of any new mixers with inserts within that price range, but you could certainly get something better used for that price. Mackie and Soundcraft have good reputations for quality pre's. I use an old Yamaha 12 channel (that I got used for $125) and I'm very happy with it.

Cheers guys.
I like the idea of the 8 channel pre-amp - maybe one for the future. Think I'll stick with the mixer 'coz it's more flexible, and not much more expensive.
Thanks again.
