If, hypothetically, all EQ's would suddenly have only 3 bands, (L M H) and no longer have sweepable frequencies (i.e. the freq. will be fixed on all eq's forever).... which frequencies would you want as the center freq on each of the 3 bands? Would you want the top and/or bottom shelving?

Yes! He speaks the truth! Every time I have to struggle with a Mackie with a 12kHz shelf I wonder why? WHY?

I wouldn't even mind dipping down to a 5kHz shelf for live sound . . .
