great sound!!!! the acoustic sounds real nice, and the drums are sitting right where they need to be. and the wandering vocals fit the song, really adds to the feel imo.

only thing is they split the vocal duty.. make sure you catch a song that Ty is singing.. not that Doug's isn't great, but your voice sounds similar to Ty's.. If you want, I can send you some.. I think you'll definitely like some of there stuff.. drop me a p.m. if you want..


also, let me know when your ready for some Q3.. I have everything going good now, and I learned how to host.. I had 4 people on last night and it was smooth..

King's X is a very tight band. Disgustingly tight. Anyway...

I didn't read many of the posts so please forgive any redundance. If I know this forum though, I'm sure vocal levels have already been mentioned. Bring them up. Just do it. Don't bitch.


Very lovely sounding acoustics.

I'm actually having a hard time critiquing the rest of the mix without the knowing what the vocals will do when raised. But the instruments sound excellent. This is a fantastic song man.

Can I do a guitar solo at the 3:30 area?

Nice song. Great feel to it. I like your singing voice. The chorus is particularly cool - although the vocals are a little buried there. Nice bass part.

I'd have liked a richer sounding acoutsic guitar. The kick drum sounds a bit boomy. Is there a vocal pitch issue at about 1:00? Do you think the break begining somewhere around 3:10 and closing out the song needs something else to fill it in? I was thinking there should be something else going on there. No idea what - just something.

Quite possibly, I didn't do any EQ to it, I noticed it was a bit 'boomy' as well. I'll tend to that.

Yeah, that is the second 'chorus' I didn't feel like coming up with more words, or repeating the first ones. I think a guitar solo, and then fade. That was the plan, you are right in saying it needs something else to fill it.

Well, you know, with your mixes - my comments are usually nit picking.

Great job as always.
I didn't mind the kick drum sound. I thought the drum mix on the whole was better than usual in fact.
You gotta bring up those vocals a bit. :)
 
Great, great work. I loved the song and specially all the arrangements ?sp? like the canon-like solo and a lot of vocal thingies you made.

Guitars and drums sound awesome.

I want to do a solo at the end too!!

Tom....I think you probably neglected to empty out your "sent items" box. Do that, and you shouldn't have to screw with it every day.


BUT ABOUT THIS RECORDING...Man, what could I possibly add to the kudos and advice you've gotten so far? I agree that the vox should come up...I'm not sure I agreee with changing the acoustic tone, but that's probably just because I too smiled when they came in.

I do hear some Kings X. (Ty Tabor vocals)They are a great band. They were said to be the Beatles of the 90's with a hard edge.... I really liked this song. You have nice vocals. Overall well done. Mix sounds good. I did like the soulful soloing. It could use a slight ripper at the end.....I wont beat the vocals horse to death.... The song is fresh. The guitars sounded good.
