Audacity
The version I'm using at the moment, 1.2.3, has no type of "interface" for any of the VST I have tried. The site says they are working on it for the next release.
I am now using the Kristal Audio Engine with the kx drivers, 3537, with a SB PCI512 card and I have to say this, these drivers make the SB workable. In KAE I can set the asio driver to 2.66ms with no poping! Granted, I'm a OMB at the moment, but I can not think of a better free setup (Kristal, kx, Audacity) for a extream budget home setup. It is freaky how well this runs on a P3 700. I am also using some great free plugins, Freeverb, Digital Fish Phones, Kjaerhus Audio, and the MDA ones. They have let me have a decent home setup for next to nothing. Sorry, don't mean to sound like a spamer, I just think this is a nice setup and wanted to spread the joy ;-)
