Free drum programs

Are there any free drum programs? And if so are they any good?
I need something that I can just make-up or edit beats. Mainly for rock, but techno stuff is fun to play with sometimes.
 
You can get demo versions of many programs, but they usually don't allow you to save your creations. Check out demos of Fruity Loops Studio and Drumsite for inexpensive programs that have free demos to try.
 
Hydrogen works on Linux and there's a developmental beta for Mac.
But I recently bought Doggiebox for OS X and it's great. It has a lot of good drumkit samples for rock.
