Hi, this is my first post here. My name's Matt and I just finished up this little EP I'd like some feedback on. It's electronic hip hop, in short. I just graduated from Ex'pression College for Digital Arts (www.expression.edu) last month, majoring in Sound Arts.

I've been lurking on this Home Recording forum for years now, and after the first time I registered, I never received a confirmation email, so I couldn't post. I finally decided to make a new email address just to re-register. I really value the opinions of the people that post here, and I was hoping I could get some feedback on this material, especially because my music never turns out the way it sounds in my head...

I recorded all of this in my bedroom, using:

Korg Elecribe SX-1
E-Mu Vintage Pro
Novation Xiosynth
Rode NT1-A mic
Five string out of tune guitar
Mini Kaoss Pad
Turntable + records
Behringer mixer
M-Audio Fast Track Pro
Pro Tools M-Powered

Thanks for your time,
matt g.

Had to wait til I got home today to download this. To start, this isn't close to my preferred genre, I don't have any recording education, and just listening to it I can tell that you know a hell of a lot more than I do about what you're doing. So, I got no advice or tips.
That being said, this is going on a cd and in my car cd player for the next couple of days. I'm not a fan of any of the genres you have going on here, and I still can't stop listening to it. That's about the best compliment I can give. two thumbs up my man.

Hey, thanks a lot for listening, and for the nice words! I'm glad you like it even though it's far from what you're into, and I really appreciate the compliments.

I don't mean to turn this into self-promotion, but here is my last album (pre-this-EP) for download, if you're interested... www.zshare.net/download/53582435ff4a8737/

This is not my kind of music either, but I must say it sounds really good.

Thank you for checking it out and for the nice words. I'm trying to figure out how to make my drums hit harder, my bass thicker without being muddy or overwhelming, and my vocals kind of right in the middle of the music, but still clear and not harsh. Hopefully I'm on the right track...
