A Nashville 'secret' for years has been the Barcus-Berry under the tele bridge and a pot to mix it in...
The numero uno compressor these days has to be the Carl Martin.....
Tele-Carl Martin Comp-Boss Delay-Choice of Fender Amp.....VOILA...Instant Albert Lee....For those who dont know, find ANY Albert Lee recording and prepare to SWOON....he is the DADDY of chicken-picken

Albert Lee is one hell of a picker but I never cared for his tone.

How about Pete Anderson who plays with Dwight Yoakam. He is twangy. Also Richard Bennett, he has played with Marty Stuart and Steve Earle.

You know the Dwight Yoakam thing is prolly the most distinctive sound in country music..

You got it, Dwight is TRUE country not like a lot of the stuff you get today.

I saw Johnny on a visit last weekend in nashville. He's just returned from a tour in Germany, they were blown away over there. The same as with the Japanese. The new custom Tele that Fender made for him is smoking too, through the twin reverb.

Is he the guy that plays with Alan Jackson?

No, Brent Mason did most the signature guitar work on Alan`s primary albums. I don`t know who jackson is using live. It could be anybody.

Brent Mason has played on a bunch of albums over the years. I bet he collects a pretty penny..

I know that Brent Mason plays on a bunch of stuff, but when I see Alan Jackson on tv and stuff he always has a heavy guy playing for him. He usually plays a butterscotch Tele and he is good.

I wonder if thats Redd Volgart maybe? Another fine Tele country player.
