Oh, and I forgot to mention something. All that stuff I wrote up above; that's just how I think of this stuff. Other people use different words to describe the same basic ideas. My favorite quote about it (which I think I got from this site) is, "talking about sound is kind of like dancing about architecture."

First it's not the same thing at all, and second; it's not even kind of true. But I'm not going to get into the whole non-violent resistance thing in a thread about guitars.
