Thats a great idea! I have a Mackie 24 channel extension board I havent been able to get rid of. I think this is where it may go to retire. It will be a nice piece to go with the bass drum coffee table I already have!

It's an awesome idea. Not so awesome a design. My shins would be wrecked within a couple of days by the protruding glass corners.

And you'd be straightening that glass as often as you bumped into it. Think it's just resting there unattached. $4500 is what he wants. I think he'll be waiting longer than the few months he anticipates.

We did that with an Ampex transport from the 50s that was already in a case. Took the lid off and set a piece of glass over the top.
