Thanks man!

And the back doesn't bother me nearly as much as that glaring gold thing on the front! :D

Yeah, I'm with you on that glaring gold thing. ;) I would have taken it off years ago if it didn't work so well.

Schaller makes the same bridge in chrome or black, and I may well replace it just so it doesn't stand out so much.

I would be interested in buying that from you.... ugly as it is.

Well I didn't say

I wouldn't buy it if he were selling. ;)

I just don't know how well wood filler takes to sunbursting. :D

BTW, ZB, my DiMarzio has the coil tap hooked up. You should do it, it sounds pretty cool. Noisy as hell, but cool nonetheless.

Not selling, but thanks for asking. ;)

notCardio, I never really thought about wiring it for a coil tap - to be honest it has just slipped my mind for the last 20 years.

I don't want to drill into the thing (any more than I already have ;) ) so I'm not sure where I'd put a coil tap switch.

Does someone make a switch that can do double duty as a volume or tone knob, and a coil tap?

.

Well, the coil tap switch is a really small hole, and in light of how it's already been modified, I don't think that would be that big of a deal. It may not make that much of a difference in tone depending on what it's going through and what style music, etc. Heavy distortion won't be as noticable as cleaner styles. Mine's in the neck postition, (hey, I didn't do it) and I think singles sound particularly cool there, so YMMV.

It's a good thought.

I see on another thread a Jimmy Page mod to LPs is being discussed and it seems there are push-pull pots you can get that let you coil split while retaining a volume or tone function.

It can't but add more versatility to the tone. Hmmmm....... :)

I really want a LP now. But the amount of ranges Gibson has is kinda intimidating...stuido, custom, classic, elite....

Isn't that the truth? It completely flummoxes me every time I visit the Gibson web site.
