So I'm in the market for a bit of a vocal signal upgrade. My current rig is a Presonus TubePre into a 003. I'm not happy with it. I've been looking at the ISA one digital for a few of reasons:
1.) I hear good things about the ISA preamps.
2.) The inclusion of a decent AD/C is appealing.
3.) Zero latency monitoring.
4.) Portability (which is a desirable quality for what I do).
Could I use this as both a decent preamp and as a decent AD/C "standalone". The idea being of course using other preamps with these AD converters, but bypassing the ISA preamp. Looking for flexibility here and this seems like a good option for me. I've looked over the specs and their seems to be an external input (EXT I/P) on the back of the unit, but I'm not sure how that is being wired into the unit and/or whether or not that input is can be sent to the AD converters. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
