SO the mic is fine. I just have to learn proper editing?
You'll certainly see an improvement with a better mic, but there are more important things at this stage.
That's probably a good way to look at it.
There are endless guides and tutorials on youtube these days. Everybody is mixing/recording/editing, so have a look and see what's going on.
Just take your pinch of salt with you. Everyone's a
professional these days.
Keep in mind that even the good hobbyists probably have a few years of experience, maybe some studying, maybe just hands on.
They've probably got treated rooms, at least to some extent.
It's not as simple as just buying the right gear, but it's not rocket science either.
Working to a backing track starts you off at a disadvantage. You don't have the option to make room for your voice, at least, not the proper way.
Very much not my area. I'm sure it's fine, but I wouldn't know.
