Re: the RNC causing thin sound with exaggerated highs, this can happen with the RNC when connecting it directly to balanced gear. It is an unbalanced unit designed to work as an insert. If you just connect a +4 balanced signal to its ins and outs, it will indeed sound extremely thin and treble-y. How are you connecting to the UA preamp?

Hi JM: Thanks for the response! I have gotten much better results with it since first posting. If you listen to a song at the link below you will find what I have done today. To answer your question, I connect all my preamps to a delta 1010 soundcard unit. I am now using the vocal/harp mic/UA 610 in the nice mode and the guitar amp in the regular compressor mode. I am liking the sound. It is subtle, which is what I am after. Thanks. Walter
