More often than not my logic will not let me work a track in flextime. Does anyone know why this might be?

What happens when you click on the Flex Time button? If your tracks just simply don't switch over to the Flex Time mode, you may have to click on your tracks and check the "Flex" box in the upper left sidebar.

If you select the track and hit the flex time button it should give u options for the type of flex time and then you can edit, i think you just need to pick polyphonic, monophonic, slicing etc. are you working with midi tracks?
