FL studio mixdown proceedure

been using fl studio for a while now...think i have mastered the basics.
but i want to know the correct proceedure for mixing down beats in fl.
should the final mixdown peak at -3db or 0db?
& should compression be added if the beat is being exported for recording in another DAW e.g "reaper"

& by "compression". i mean compressing the beat as a whole

you can compress it freely in FL, makes no difference, however the compressor makes the difference.
mixdown before adding compressor/limiter should be under 0db by my understandings.
