My friend's prestige rg recently suffered a rather ugly chip in the finish, on the front and side where binding would be. It is a translucent finish over a flamed maple top. The wood suffered no damage the bit of finish broke cleanly off down to the wood. Is there a way to touch this up?

bump, I'd really like to here some suggestions
just to clarify it is where the binding WOULD be, there isnt actually binding on that guitar.

bump..... damnit someone has to have some sort of suggestion.

It depends on what the finish of the guitar actually is made of.

Probably some clear nail polish would do the trick. Its more than likely a poly finish, and the polish shouldnt have any negative reactions to it.
