Fitting tension rollers from another Fostex on R8?

As some of you might know as I've rambled about it way too much I'm having a hard time with my Fostex R8.
It's shedding big time because of the sharp edges of the horrible plastic tension rollers. A shame as the sound of the machine is fine.

Would anyone know if the proper metal tension rollers of other Fostex quarter inch machines will fit on this machine? And does any of you have tension rollers they're willing to let go for a good price?
It sounds fine but as its working now it will slowly destroy the tapes :facepalm:
 
Uh, aren't the tension rollers supposed to, well... roll? Are they jammed or something?
 
Try removing the front caps. They're usually the bits with the sharp edges, it will function fine without them.
