PF2 by the trainset ghetto

share please..I hope to hear some bad ones :)

Oh....I think I can provide some stinkers. I'll have to trot down into the dungeon and dust off some stuff I did back in the 80's.

This is from the late 80's (it's kind of foggy now).View attachment 65750

We were pretty cool before electricity.

1976 was embarrassing enough but this...?

I thought I may as well go back as far as I can & be as embarrassing as poss. too.
The attached file comes from a stereo cassette recording in 1976. Two inbuilt auto limited ECMs in a portable Panasonic cassette payer.
12 string Ibanez Hummingbird played by Eric Drabwell & the Coronet short scale bass played through a 10w 10" guitar amp is by me. The singer is Mary-Anne.
I revisited this track last year or the year before using 2 diff. singers: one being my then 'cello tutor & the 2nd MP3Clinic's own Lifelyrics. The 1st revisit was quite close to the original & the 2nd quite a development.
This, original, version stands quite alone.
Thrill seeker wasn't too bad - it was the late 80's afterall.

Ray, I have some stuff that old but I don't have the intestinal fortitude to post it. This was some of my oldest multitrack stuff. That's PLENTY embarassing enough for me. For the morbidly curious, mine was tracked through a Peavey MD-16 to tascam 238. The only condensors I had were Tascam PE-80's. I didn't have two dynamic mics of the same make or model so it was a real mutt on the drum kit.
And Rayc, concidering the vintage and medium, yours ain't THAT bad.:D

i think your bass sound has improved somewhat :D

Been good fun rooting through folks dirty laundry on here so far. Hope they keep coming. Btw, I love Party Fears Two kc - good choice of cover even if you find it mortally embarrassing to hear back now ;)

Anyway, here's mine. The first song I ever finished recording. The recording may be muddy and the singing patchy (so what's changed? heh heh), but playing it back now, I reckon I'm still fairly chuffed with the song itself.

Oh man. I probably have the world's largest collection of crappy home recordings. From like 1986-2006 it was pretty much one fail after another.

The stuff so far really isn't that bad by comparison.

I went back and checked yours KC, and I was actually the first one to comment. I didn't think it was too bad then nor does it sound particularly embarassing now. Your second recording ever?

Track Rat's sounds really good for the age, just stylistically not my thing. Ray, yours sounds even older than '76 somehow...:) Rob, yours has a nice melody and could be a really cool tune, just not so great sound quality-wise is all.

I'm still waiting for something really embarassing.

Got some pretty awful 4tracs from the country band that I destroyed. You don't need to hear those....

yeah Im sure I re visited it...the original has long gone but those cymbals are brilliant..and that guitar tone cuts through the mix lol

its not embarrassing, its just not very good...my very first track was posted three months after i started and duly ignored :D

Here are my 3 first and only tunes. I boiled some singing and some copy pasting(y) into the last song.
-The thing about recording in a bedroomstudio I like the most is: you get to experience a part of your self
without acting which makes it easier (to me) to realize your self and your style.
I hope somebody likes my way of exporting music :D
-Have a good one.

these arent bad at all for first songs...this is quite dissapointing, i was expecting some real bad stuff

I had tracks from the eighties done on a fostex four track but theyve long gone...shame as 14 versions of Night Train are something to behold

yes we do :D

Cool idea for a thread. I'll dig up some embarrassing shit later.
