hey guys ...this is my first attempt at recording a demo cd for a band ....here is one of the songs

Temptation

any advice on my mixing skills would be appreciated ... i recorded the song on my multracker then mixed it in Cakewalk Sonar ...

then i put it through T Racks ... if anyone has any ideas or advice it would be a great help ..thanks in advance :)

The kick sounds a little soft. It should have more stab. The snare too. More meat there would glue this together. Otherwise, not bad.

Yeah i agree... i haven't EQ'd the drums at all yet ...i intend to eq the kick and snare..... thanks ..

anyone else care to give me some critique? :)

Nice track, I agree with track-rat, I would also like some fatter bass. maybe a bit louder. :)

cool ...so how do i make it fatter ....compress the hell out of it and boost some 300 Hz freqs ?

I agree with Track rat on the kick and snare. See if you can get them to come up a bit in the mix. Seem slike running some eq on the whole mix can fix some of this. I tried a little bit, but never got the kick to really stand out.

Guess you heard enough of the kick and snare.....
You might also take everything else that's higher....some of the cymbals and the vocs, and drop them a touch. Give the lows some room. Not much, but they sem to be near 0db, so it wouldn't hurt to drop them a db or 2.

Cool thanks Dogman ...What about the reverb on the vocals ...is there too much ...i was thinking maybe i should only add a touch of reverb during the chorus? or do you think it sounds ok?

To me, vocals sounded ok.
