I'm such a sucker that I was tempted to get another.... even though I'm really not going to be using them on OH's or anything.
I tracked female vox and tenor sax last night. Basically a recreation of the original Girl From Ipanema for my Jazz Group's promo CD. The RSM-4 seems pretty dark to me, especially using the pres on inputs one and two on my firepod. I think a better preamp would mitigate some of the high end rolloff, but for this application, it really sounded great. (the pre was one click from dimed for the vocals) Both tracks took EQ and reverb really well, and the vocals really seem to sit right up front no matter where the fader is, clear and mellow. I'll get an MP3 mix of it on here soon. I want to take a listen to my Getz/Jobim LP before I settle on the sax sound.
