nice one...

Nothing more to say other than great job. I can't wait to hear the "final" mix. :)

Nice tight performances as usual, and smooth clear production. To me some of those fast triplets don't seem to quite fit into their slot - kind of like jamming a six sided block into a 7 sided hole. Backing vocals are brilliant. Cool rocker

Christ man, I have been MIA from this bb for about 6 months and your shit just gets better and better.

I don't know what to say.

Go get some bastard to build you a room in NYC or LA.

Stop making everyone look bad :P

Sounds great,

Listened again on my Adams (which I'm still breaking in)

The kick is really out front, which works on the triplet bursts but sometimes seem a little too clicky during the other parts of the song... A/Bing with my sub made this a bit more noticeable.

Note, the above 'critique' is totally trivial in regards to the mix of the song... Not an 'icepick' by any stretch, but just what jumped out at me...

Love the tonal balance

Snare tone = orgasmic :D

Great song!

:)

I have to admit Rami, I often listen to your mixes hoping to find something wrong with them. Just so I can contribute in some constructive manner to the thread. I'm not having much luck, fortunately for you :)

Very nicely done. Tight performance, solid sound, good listening. Again, I honestly wish I could help you out with some constructive criticism, but I genuinely can't.

Edit:
The snare sound you've got is particularly tasty.
Hey Doc, thanx a lot. I'm sure my songs are far from perfect, but I appreciate the compliment. Thanx on the snare sound. I really took time to tune it until I was happy with it for this one.

Thanx a lot das. I'll be posting the final mix when it's done.

Thanx Bullshit. Yeah, I could have gotten a perfect "triplet" part and then copied and pasted it, but I decided to do it live every time, so they might not all fit perfectly. Thanx for the listen, dude.

Hehe....I appreciate that, James. I'll try to suck a little more next time. :D

Great. Nice to hear. I'll work on that kik because it seems to be the main complaint about the tune. Thanx for taking the time to listen and offer help again, man.

.

I noticed that too about the triplets, but I actually like them better that they are a tiny bit "off" and different from eachother. It sounds real and natural and gives more energetic feel to those parts. Kudos for not copying and pasting and keeping it real! :)

My next song is gonna be pretty scorchingly fast and some of the quick fills aren't robot perfect, and with the guitars in there, I think they sound great. So yeah, I get where you're coming from.

You play the triplets great each time. I've had a couple more listens and what bugs me about it is they don't seem able to fit into their slot. I don't think Bonham could fit them in there. It's more of an arrangement thing I guess. Yeah I know you play live on all your tunes. That's one of the reasons I like your tunes

I know what you're saying. And you're probably right. Mathematically, they don't fit. But, I figure, if it starts at the beginning of the hole and ends at the end of the hole....it fits. :D

Sort of like "Blackdog" by Zeppelin. There's a middle part where Page is repeating just the first part of the main riff and Bonham is playing a straight beat. It seems to fall apart, but they come out of it at the same time....so it fits.:)

you can't find anything wrong with this mix? The kick is to up front like way to up front the bass isn't cutting through in the begining I don't like how low mid heavy the guitars sound pretty unnatural to me. Need some high end in the guitars imho

why don't you just take your high and mighty attitude and go fuck yourself????

Sorry, RAMI, but I can't stand this guy's attitude.....

Thanx Joey. It's cool, man. I specifically said in my first post that's it's a quick mix and I need help with it. I never said I "couldn't find anything wrong with the mix".

He's going to give himself a stroke because he's so insecure and angry that all of his posts show that, so I don't take it personally. He runs around the site trying to convince himself and others that he's above all this by doing nothing but being an asshole to everyone. I've heard his shit. He's far from being good enough to have that attitude. He should let his music do the talking for him, but it doesn't, so he compensates by acting like a 2 year old.

It's all good. I'm re-mixing the tune anyway, with or without his pompous, pretensious attitude, which he can't back up with his "product". :)

another winner--the drum breakdown at 1:50 is SWEET!!!!

i'm a big fan of dark guitars--the tone here is perfect for the song, imo.

snare is beautiful. perfect balance of "crack" and "punch." comes through just right.

i would tuck the drums back a touch, though. they're burying everything else a bit--as a drummer, i find i often do the same thing. also, you have a lot of attack on those toms and i could use a little more low-end fat in them, but i'm certainly not saying they're bad-sounding.

that triplet fill is tits. :)

Big energy...super tight and nice vocal arrangements as usual :). Drums sound fantastic!

I like the guitar sound, not so much dark, just super compact in a way that reminds me of some 70's recordings (in a good way of course ).

I am listening on pc speakers w/ sub, so accuracy here is questionable, but I wish the lead vox would come up a bit at times...drums seem a tiny bit overpowering relative to everything else...but still a tremendously polished performance and a great recording.:D:D

Thanx a lot Dross. Coming from you that means a lot. Yeah, being a drummer, I find that my drums are either a little loud sometimes, or the opposite, sometimes too low if I'm too trying to over-compensate. I rarely get them just right until people tell me they're either too loud or too low.

Thanx bro. (tits are good :D )

Cool, thanx a lot Heat. I'll be tucking those drums in a bit, after your and other people's comments about that. Thanx for the advice and comments. :)

RAMI~Just finished tracking this and decided to do a quick mix, which is never a good idea. But I'm doing it anyway.

Any help on the mix is always appreciated.

GregL~If I had to nit anything with the drums, I'd say the kick is on the verge of having too much "click"

The rhythm guitars could use a little more sizzle to me. They sound kind of dark.

RAMI~I just went back to verify and realized I had the EQ bypassed on my kik.

Joeym~that kick, you should maybe let it breathe more.

RAMI~Sill going to re-mix it based on some of the advice I got here so far.

Bulls Hit~To me some of those fast triplets don't seem to quite fit into their slot

BentRabbit~The kick is really out front, which works on the triplet bursts but sometimes seem a little too clicky during the other parts of the song...

I've not had a listen yet RAMI, but going to soon...well, that is, if you think you can stop being a recording god long enough to handle some more critique on your song..:D

Well...as far as my ears are concerned, you've graduated from HR school and approved to go out into the dog-eat-dog Music Industry world, to make lots of money and with a little help from your hearing impaired friends...an egotistical ass out of yourself...;):mad::p:D

Kudos on a great performance and mix RAMI! You got da skillz baby!!

Thanx a lot, True.

I finally re-mixed it based on all the advice I got here. Like I had said, what I had put up was a very quick mix and I knew it needed work mix-wise. Hopefully this is better.

SUNDAY MONKEY Take 2

Thanx for all the help to all of you offered it. :)

Way to go Rami, sounds great to me! ;)
I love the guitar tone, and those triplets are nice, they give it character.
The thing is pumping hard.....
I've downloaded it and will be playing it lots of times!

Joey :):):):)

Guitars have that Thin Lizzy "Johnny the Fox" sound. Really like them. As far as people commenting on "nice triplets", WTF is a triplet. My son took drum lessons and talks all that fancy talk. I dont get it :) PS, experiment with parallel compression on the final mix. For shits and giggles, I ran the tune through a Acuma Labs Parralel Comp plugin and while the mix is great as is, it made everything pop and gel better. You might experiment with it when you do your final mix and "mastering"
