i had my first ever recording session with another full band yesterday and i'm well pleased with how it went. i'm not a qualified engineer or anything but i've been recording my own band for a few years.
it was a twelve hour session, which included live takes of two songs, a few guitar and keyboard overdubs, vocals and then full mixes. this is the gear i was using:
ibook g4
cubase SE
alesis mutlimix fw 16
red 5 audio drum mic set (with sm57 on snare)
sm58 on rhythm guitar
akg c3000 on lead guit
red 5 audio rv6 on vocals
as it was a trial thing, i made a deal with the band that if they were pleased with the result, they pay, and if not then no worries. well, they were well made up and i've got beer money for the weekend!
have a listen to the tracks and i'd love to hear what you guys think and if i can improve anything,
