I have a Emu 1212m and it hasn't been the best since i got it, Sound is clean but from time to time the sound will cut out and start makin a loud annoying sound until i reboot my computer, so im lookin into a NEW Audio Interface. Either Pci or Firewire, wondering Which would be the way to go?

I was lookin at the Fire Wire Interfaces and see That they're also Mic amps, I was lookin into a Mic preamp but if i can get 2 In 1, WHY NOT! ya know haha. so please let me know which u perferr

Im using a ESI Juli@ card and using the +4db 1/4 in balaced input output.

Its basicly a 4 channel card 2 being audio the other 2 spdif and has midi as well.

It is a PCI card.

When i build my next computer I am going to Firewire.
I will be borrowing a RME Fireface and octa8 pre.
Till I can get my own audio interface the Posonis FireStudio looks good.
or I may go and get a RME fireface.
Makie 400f looks good as well.....so many choices

I think Firewire at the moment is the way to go.

My 2 Watts

Firewire, U can use it for mobile work with your laptop. One less card to remove when your PC or Mac dies. Less load on your PC's power supply. Future computers may not even have PCI slots. Just a few reasons.
