I personally have a 1640, the pre's are that good. I have seen the install and running of one of the Mackie 400's and they seem to work really well. With a good setup, the drivers seem cool, though Traction (Mackies software) is a bit odd or clunky. The firepod is still good and have no problem recomending it too, though the pre's arent as good. Also Focusright(sp?) has sometihng similiar coming out soon to compete with them that I have heard will be pretty cool with pre's to rival the Mackie.
