Firepod/Cubase Problems

Hey all,

Having problems with my firepod i just got today. I also got a MXL V67 mic. I plug in my crappy mic which doesnt need phantom power and i get a signal through cubase.

I plug in my MXL V67 and i don't get anything. I have the phantom power button lit so i know its getting 48V.

I also am having a problem routing my monitoring back through the computer speakers.

Should I be connecting this manually or should it be a setting in Cubase?


Need help as soon as possible,

are you using a xlr cable or regular 1/4" cable, because condenser mics only work with xlr

oh and you cant route it back through your computer speakers becuase your playback is set to go through the firepod itself so if you want playback through your speakers then you must manually swith your drivers back to the regular computer drivers, and when you want to record switch back...thats why i monitor through my firepod

Thanks for the response.

It is a 1/4 to XLR cable so maybe thats why it won't work. I'm still new at this but willing to learn. Also... what do you mean that you monitor through your firepod. Do you just use the headphone jack on the front of do you use the 1-8 Line out's on the back and then run them to your amp? Or better yet what do you suggest i use to output the sound. I would like to run them through my computer speakers if possible. Probably not possible i guess.

i suggest just using the firepod for the playback becuase its more simple..no switching back and forth all the time, because everytime you switch back you have to set your channels all up again...but i usually run my amp to the firepod(i use the headphone input)and for playback during recording i plug my head phones into the back outputs. its just saves alot of time and setting up the channels everytime gets real old really fast.

by the way, my amp has a left right input for an aux channel, so i use a stereo left right plug to a 1/8" and then that has a 1/4" adapter on it which plugs directly into the headphone input on the front of the firepod.
