This song has passed through many changes until we ended up with this version. It was recorded at my project studio with very basic gear. Rythm guitar, bass & drums were recorded live, the first two were DI´d monitoring by cans. Then we added the lead guitar, vox and chorus. Hope you like it and I´ll be waiting for your feedback.

Thanks

TS

P.s Hope you don´t mind that lyrics are in spanish ;)

I'm listening on cheesy computer speakers, so I can't really say much about the mix, but I like the song. Good Job :)

Thanks VT, I think this song has something that makes it enjoyable. What I like about this recording is the performance, great feeling and vibe, recording three instruments live really helped.

Thanks again

Love the vox--the song almost sounds like Echo and the Bunnymen played a show at Chi-Chi's; definately pretty sweet. My only mix gripe would be I don't like how shrill the guitar is, especially in the beginning. Try a different DI box next time, or if that was the lead, try a different mic placement. I love doing all sorts of whacky shit mic-placement-wise to get a different sound; try bouncing it off of a wall, cieling, sibling, anything. But other than that, impressed--and keep churning out the good tunes.

 Yep I receive the same suggestion about the guitar in the beginning, I think that there´s to much highs on it´s sound, too crisp that bothes the ear. I use M-AudioBuddy for guitar and bass but I passed through a Marshall 30w bass combo. For the guitar I also used a cheap DOD supra distortion.

I´m glad that you liked we have 6 finished songs with the same vibe but with different sound quality. I think that the one you listened is the best we have, it´s called Ode to suicide, there´s another called Fiction, that was picked by a local rock magazine for his compilation CD with 19 songs, we have the honor to be in there.

Thanks for listening

Bass is muddy.(too much in the 400 t0 500hz area id say,(and is there an effect on the bass like a chorus?)
Vocalist sounds like hes got gause in his mouth(lacks presence)
The guitars bury the vocals during the verse.

I like the snare sound though.

definately got that late 80s british indie feel, I like this a lot!

Maybe I should check the EQ, I think you´re right. About the chorus, nop there isn´t such effect. There´s something wrong with the bass or with my card latency or whatever. When you record bass you can feel like there´s an effect like chorus or flanger, maybe is the instrument itself don´t you think??.

Well he´s not a "real" vocalist, he´s an announcer for radio and TV spots. I think he´s doing his best but still insecure of what he could do. I can´t imagine another person singing our songs. But who knows....

Our lead guitar told me the same, I raised the levels but it looks like it´s not enough. I´ll check this out and fix it.

I like the snare sound though.
I like it, too!!!. I´m the drummer :D

Thanks for your time and for listening.
