Finally a new song.....

I like the vocals on this one, great singing and the effect is very cool. I don't think it's too derivative at all, and I can't really hear that Lenny Kravitz influence you mentioned. The Beattles I can hear, but not sure why either. The bass line sound a little familiar, but I can't place it at all. I wouldn't worry about it being derivative. The solo change is great, and nice playing too. I'd would like to hear it fade a little slower and continue with more of the "what is all this for" line like someone else mentioned. Great song overall.

Buck: I'm not really sure what you mean by "the snare roll at the :27 to :28 second mark of transition #2 would sound great going into that break. " Could you elaborate a little? I'm not sure which parts you are referring to.

mojka: My equipment is listed earlier in this thread. Glad you enjoyed the song.

Jon X: Thanks. I'm here in Asia where a lot of music is ripped off, so I'm a little sensitive about being a 'copycat' -- even if it is unintentional.

I've extended the ending ('just what is all this for') and shortened the beginning (the intro).

Also, I don't know of anyone noticed, but I changed the sample for the bass drum. This one sounds a little better I think, even though you can't hear it that clearly on 'transition.mp3'. I guess I mixed it a little soft.

Once I get done with this transition I'll mixdown and post the whole song.

Mr Lip...
You put a short MP3 of just the transition part that you improved.
After listening to that, there was a snare-roll at :27 (the 27 second mark) in the new transition that I believe would sound better going into that change/lead part. It's like 5 or 6 hits on the snare, and it would sound great going into that change. Take a listen, and you'll see what I mean. ;)
