PC load letter?
is this something that's done commonly, i was thinking about it and it should work.

I want to use the stereo outs on my motu to send my entire mix into my mixer, allen and heath, beautiful preamps and eq. I would send it into two different channels and utilize the eq on the allen and heat, and i figured i might even get a little signal boost running it through the preamps again, as well as a little warmth to a digital mix. My only concern is that it would need to be converted to analog and then back to digital, is that really terrible, would the extra conversion be worth what was gained from mixing down my project this way, as opposed to edit - bounce to tracks?

Thanks
Eric

I don't think so... no -- but the best way for you to find out is to try it and see!

If you like what you hear then do it...!

There's no real difference, but one thing is there is are two sweepable mid frequencies on the mixer, and if you boost the mids and sweep the mids back and forth it gets recorded like that and sounds really cool, so it'll be good for that, lol.

Thanks

If you really want to gain the advantage of using your mixer get a sound card with multiple outs so you can use your mixer to actually, well, mix!

Then just record the master buss back into your DAW for a warmer fatter sound.

If you are using Cubase, supposedly you get a better sound by running the signal out of Cubase and back in when mixing down to two tracks. I.e., as opposed to using whatever internal mixdown function it has.

This process is usually done using S/PDIF as opposed to converting to and from analog. However, one conversion shouldn't hurt if you have good converters.
