Do it right or dont do it
Hey there, I've uploaded the entire unmastered tracks (320kbps) that are part of my band's first CD :D.

I'd like to hear comments on the music, the mixing or even the artwork. Thanks a lot for your precious time.

I'm not sure about the streaming... but I can upload the songs individually. I thought it was easier to download a single file :(

If you just stick up the mp3s in some directory on your server, we can play them directly from the browser. I don't know if I can speak for most people here, but if a song requires a download, I usually skip it.

Guitars sound good. kick drum sounds lifeless though. is it an acoustic kit? i guess it sounds as deep and heavy as it should minus the kick.

Something's up with the streaming. I'm only getting the first two seconds of any given song (using Firefox 3 w/ Quicktime).

I really don't know why my streams aren't working. That's the reason I always post zip files. Just in case the MP3 files I've uploaded came directly from the Pro Tools bounce. Maybe that's why they're not loading. Damn it!!!

That's strange. I always figured that I couldn't stream anything from your site because of a bug on my end. Looks like I'm not the only one. I can right click the file and download it, so the whole file is definitely there.

Anyways, as far as the mix goes, I think it sounds good. The only thing I think is weird is that the vocals don't sound very "loud." It feels like he's growling at a conversation level. I'm not sure if this is the case or not, or even if this is normal, but that's the feeling I get.

Hey, thanks for downloading instead of streaming. Well, vocals in death metal are very diverse. Some guys like to scream louder and other tend to go for the plain monotonous growling. I really dig the second option. But I'm worried because maybe I'm applying too much compression and the vocals are getting buried in the mix. Should I raise the volume of the vocal track? Which song did you download?

The music's really good for this kind of style. Recording sounds pretty well-balanced. One has to get used to the vocals though, not because they growl (I'm a big Slipknot fan :D), but the singer is a bit monotonous. Changing his tone here and there might help. But if that's what you intended, that's OK by me. I still think it's really good.

Joe :):):)
