i just picked up a 98 strat with the same stuff pealing off the frets.I gently scraped it off and the neck looks great now

Thanks for clarifying. I've got a guy does some finishing for me when I'm real busy. He's the "dogs bxxs" when it comes to fancy finishing. I'll ask him if I can try some.Light said:Yup, that's the stuff. It works really great. I find that it works best if you remove it imediately after spraying (well, I usually wait long enough to do a thorough cleaning of the spray gun first, and then I peel off the tape). But it works fine for a day or two. I also seem to get less of a "bead" at the edge of the tape with the pinstriping tape, which is really nice (and it helps to avoid the Gibson Binding Syndrom).
