Captain Sea Boots
I picked this guitar up the other day after doing a lot of guitar hunting. I played a gig with it the same night, so here are my thoughts so far:
--- I love the neck. It is a bit wider than some, but it allows for easy soloing if you are a bender like me. It plays well all along the fretboard. I have heard people say that the frets can be bad on MIM tele's, but they were great on this one.
--- I play a lot of rock. Not metal, but more along the lines of Greenday or Weezer. This thing gets a lot of thickness out of the humbuckers, yet has a nice crispness when set up right.
--- I also gave it the Buckley test. I played a cover of "Hallelujah" solo on it at the gig, and I heard several people say it was the prettiest version they have heard me play. So the guitar sounds great clean or overdriven.
--- I played the thing for 4 hours, and I had to retune 2 strings once.
--- OK, now some complaints
1. When I lightly touch the strings, there is a faint popping sound. I may just need to raise the action. I am no guitar expert, so I don't know what this means.
2. The pickup switch is noisy when you touch the metal at the base. It's fine if you just grab the tip though, so it's not a big deal for me.
3. This is more of a tele design complaint. After playing for several hours, the skin on my right arm was a little sore where it contacted the guitar (I'm a right handed player). When I play power chords, I play pretty heavily with my shoulder like Billie Joe, so this may have exaggerated the problem.

OK, I gotta go for now. I'll post more when I get a chance.

I'm still concerned about complaints 2 and 3 in my previous post as I am still within the full refund period. Any comments?

1 & 2 seem to have something to do with the electrical grounding. Don't worry about it.
