FD-8 EQ question

I have a potentially silly question that could potentially save me a lot of time experimenting. I'm tracking with an FD-8, keeping everything as clean, flat and pure as possible going in. I have never done a mixdown with this machine (only ADAT transfers), so my question is, when mixing down to 2 tracks (either digitally or to the analog outs) does the track-by-track EQ apply? The manual says you can apply effects, but is silent about this question. Thanks!!

Yes it does apply. For instance, I always like to push the mids up on any lead guitar. It makes them stand out and a bit brighter. So, you can use EQ to your hearts content but, it should be used sparingly.
