i think every skinny puppy song with lyrics stands up on their own without the music.

now it's just a matter of choosing the best opening line. . . .

Maybe not the most "poetic" opening line, but just absolutely perfect in its musical context.

No matter how many times I hear it, it still provides the same jolt of inspiration and adrenaline as the first time.

I can't think of another song that so economically packs that much punch in it's first 4 words.

Ironic, because I think the knock on Robyn Hitchcock from critics is that he's overly fanciful and self-indulgent/self-contained in his lyrics.

Personally, I think he's brilliant. Definitely underrated and underappreciated.
