Probably wouldn't put Zep I on too often these days. II still gets a spin 'cos it just sounds so good to my ears with a great track order. I was brought up on III mostly stoned and that remains prerequisite for me to listen to it (so I never play that one, Officer). IV I never really got into, other than Levee, which is brilliant (for its chord changes, not just those bloody stairwell drums!). HotH has the Rain Song, No Q, some really inventive, tight playing. PGraff is a great mixture of raw (In My Time, Sick Again, Custard, Rover) and more construct (Ten Years Gone, Seaside), great diversity, which makes it perhaps my desert island Zep disc of choice. Presence neatly captures them at their most incessant heaviest (Has anyone tried playing Nobody's Fault quietly? Right, there's just no point.)
After all that, I reckon ITtOD gets the most airplay in my house these days. Must be mellowing out.
Wow, this was sooo self-indulgent.
