This is probubly the best midi controller bar none with hammer action 88 keys all for only 500.00 bucks.

any opinions on this? can you beat this deal?

I have a Roland A90, and I played alot of hammer-action keyboards at the store... The fatar would be the one that feels worst. Really hate the feel. I think you could compare the touch with an old upright, and rather heavy.
Most other hammeraction keyboards have got an action more like a grand or baby-grand.

Frankly Ive played the roland and it sounded like it was not even a real piano, It didnt get any louder on the lower notes and its weighted keys didnt feel as good to me.

the fatar on the other hand feels like Im playing a real piano.and when I strike the low notes It is louder like a real piano. by the way im using a yamaha midi expander to get the sound and it is really good.

The sound comes from your expander. So, if you would use the roland to control your yamaha, the sound would be louder too... Another thing to consider is the amp and speakers you play with. And the roland has alot of different piano sounds. And ofcourse the fact that from a certain level, you just notice the difference between the real thing and any digital paino. (The velocity doesn't change the timbre, the pedal doesn't allow other strings to resonate...)

But the fatar I played really sucked. But I don't remember what model it was, could be pretty old. (Was used...)
The new rolands have a different action too. Never really played it.

Guess it also depends what you're used too. Real piano's have different feels too. I remember as a kid, always playing uprights, at my lessons an upright with VERY heavy touch, and on our examination we had to play a yamaha babygrand, with extremely light touch...
