Haven't read any of the comments yet, so this review is of the "updated" mix - purely objective. Sorry it took me so long to get to finally listening to this. I love your stuff, Joey.
First thing I notice is... Your vocals are primo, dude. I mean seriously - this is sick. Lots of power, lots of grit, lots of soul. I can feel it. Kudos, bro.
Where the vocals are so powerful, I hate to say it, but the drums lack about the same power. I can tell that the rhythm *wants* to be powerful, but the execution / sound of the drums sounds weak. I can't quite put my finger on why, because the actual rhythm should be powerful. The sounds produced by the drums, though, for some reason seems to suck the energy out of the beat.
During the bridge, the tom roll beat gets up in power, but still doesn't quite make it to the vocal power level though.
During the end "false paradise" section, beginning the ending sequence, I can hear some serious sweetness by doubling, tripling, or even quadrupling up the vocals and echoing them out. (I hope that is intelligible. If not, let me know and I'll explain more)
Anyway... Guitars and everything else are way above par, bordering on pro-production levels, as far as my ears can tell.
Great job! When can we expect the album? (I'll go read the comments now)
*edit: After reading the comments, I totally agree that the drums lack "glue". I think the lack of power I was talking about comes from the drums sounding like individual drums - instead of a "kit" being played.
