fader calibration

I did searches and couldn't come up with anything here.

I got an el cheapo mixer a while back - used.

anywayz it has split L-R master faders. and the L one is weak. I have to boost it up, but then the 2 channels dont seem to sound the same. I would much rather have them be the same volume at the same location. the difference is astounding.

I am not sure If I have to clean it or calibrate it.

Are you sure it's not your ears? I have to boost the right channel 3 dB because of hearing loss

There's really no way to change that...depending on where your signal is routed from your L-R faders it could be the fader or even the connection itself between the fader and the actual jack. If you have a headphone jack check your cans to see if the sound is even...if its not then its def your fader which is probably not serviceable on a small board.

it is noticeable on the monitors (through a ctrl room send) as well as on the master sends to my DAW, which makes it really obvious, because you can visually see the level differences.
