It´s a song my band recorded in my budget-home-project-studio. I sended i to the local radio demo competition but they told me that they think it´s a good song, but they don´t want to play it because of the recording- and productionquality. Ofcourse I don´t take it personal so I wanted to hear you guys out whether it´s a mixing-issue or a re-recording issue. Do you have an oppinion? Throw it

nice tune and performance, catchy tune


the mix is letting it down, its a bit muddy and its effecting the separation of the instruments...it all sounds like its been recorded live in one go

try to get some definition of the kick, then give it and the bass their own room...bring in the vocals followed by the other instruments...keep the snare near the middle but the overheads can be spread out 10-2pm

I dont really mix traditional stuff but Id be making cuts in the mids and adding some pop on the snare...the vocals later on are too loud, bring the lead down a little



sorry if Im all over the place, Im listening as I type...you need one of the other guys in here to point you in the right direction as this kinda stuff isnt really my bag...its a solid song let down by an inexperienced mix imo, but it can be fixed

I'd bring the drums up and work on getting them to stick out more and be less muddy.

The bass is a little muddy too

Overall it all just sounds distant.

Good song though.

I´m very fond of your replies. An no kcearl, you are not all over. As a newbie, I like your kind of detailed response. I´ll take it all in consideration when we re-record the tune in the easter holiday in a better studio. Mine is to budget-colored.
